European Directive 96/35/EC has affected everyone involved in the control, movement or storage of hazardous goods and is known in the UK as the DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor). Since the 31st December 1999 it has been a requirement that any company involved with hazardous goods has to either employ their own DGSA or at least have ready access to their own consultant.
